Jo gur aakhe oh kujh karna sev kamana sikhi ey;
Jo kujh deve oh kujh kha ke shukar manana sikhi ey.
Bhavein sukh daye Bhavein dukh daye manna bhana sikhi ey;
Jis rang rakhhe us rang rehna prem nibhana sikhi ey.
Ik rab de bas ho ke rehna hor kise di lorh nahin;
Kahe avtar aise gursikh nun kise cheez di thorh nahin.

To act upon what the True Master ordains, and to serve him, is discipleship,
To take whatever he gives and be thankful to him, is discipleship.
Whether he shows adversity or prosperity, to submit to his will, is discipleship;
To remain contented in whatever circumstances he keeps, and to remain stead-fast in one's love, is discipleship.
The one who relies on God alone and does not feel the necessity to depend on anyone else;
Avtar says, such a disciple of the True Master does not find anything lacking.
